M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) has accredited Shawnee State University. CAEP promotes excellence in educator preparation through quality assurance and continuous improvement.

State Authorization

For Students and Activities Outside of Ohio

For educational activities offered outside of Ohio, Shawnee State University must comply with State Authorization requirements. The following information may apply to students located out of state taking online courses or participating in an internship/field experience/clinical outside of Ohio. Please read all information to understand your responsibilities.

Shawnee State University is a member of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), authorizes Shawnee State to offer certain activities in other SARA states. SARA is a national initiative to provide more access to distance education courses (e.g., online, out-of-state student learning experiences) while maintaining compliance standards with state regulatory agencies. Requirements vary by state; therefore, SSU recommends that you contact appropriate licensing agency or board in your state or territory – including states participating in NC-SARA – BEFORE beginning any academic program or coursework. It is the student’s responsibility to confirm program eligibility for licensure in any state outside Ohio.
